1. What benefits I can get when placing deposit with VisionFund Cambodia?

2. What are the requirements for opening an account with VisionFund Cambodia?
For individual (Cambodian), you must have the following documents:
  • Cambodian identification card, or
  • Passport which is valid for at least 3 months, or
  • Driving license, or
  • Family book: (for family member, attach other documents with portrait such as voter ID, vehicle registration card, employment card, etc.)

For foreigners living in Cambodia, you must have the following documents:

  • Passport which is valid for at least 3 months, and
  • Either rental contract or employment contract

For corporations/organizations, clients must have the following documents:

  • Memorandum and articles of association;
  • Business registration certificate;
  • Authorization Letter;
  • Identification card/passport of authorized signatories
  • Other documents (if available).
3. Can I maintain an account with joint ownership?
Yes, you can choose to hold an account personally or open a joint account consisting of account holders up to a maximum of three people.
4. In what currency can I open an account with VisionFund Cambodia?
You can open an account either in local currency Khmer Riel (KHR) or United States dollar (USD).
5. What is the Hope Savings Account?
The Hope Savings Account is a voluntary savings account which provides the convenience to save with any amount at any time. With this account, customers can:
  • Save with small amounts anytime based on the needs of their business or personal savings
  • Withdraw anytime during working hours
  • High annual interest rate compared to the market (4.5% for KHR or 3.5% for USD)
6. What is the Social Investor Term Deposit?
Social Investor Term Deposit (SITD) is a contract account with specific terms which responds to the needs of customer(s) who have specific financial investment plans. With this account, the customer is smartly investing over different terms based on his/her needs, such as over 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24 and 36 months, with the highest return from the annual interest rate. Through this savings, the customer will become the indirect contributor to social development in the welfare of children’s lives with VisionFund. The SITD is designed to fit your needs to obtain full interest at maturity or monthly interest.
7. How long can I place my deposit?
You can choose any term as preferred such as 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24 and 36 months.
8. Can I open more than one Social Investor Term Deposit account with VisionFund Cambodia?
Yes, you can open more than one account with VisionFund Cambodia.
9. Is my interest receivable from Social Investor Term Deposit subject to any tax payment?
Yes, your interest earning is subject to withholding tax based on a specific prevailing rate determined by General Department of Taxation, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Royal Government of Cambodia from time to time. Currently, withholding tax of six percent (6%) is applied on resident customers and fourteen percent (14%) on non-resident customers. Therefore, only net-off amount after tax is paid out.
10. How and when can I get my money back?
 
  • You can withdraw at any time during working hours for your HSA.
  • You can withdraw your principles and interest at maturity date when your account SITD is matured if without an automatic roll over.
11. Is it possible to renew my deposit for another term?
Yes, it is. With SITD, you can choose an option of “Automatic Roll Over” during account opening or inform VFC’s staff to set this option for you during one day before the SITD is matured. You can also renew your deposits for any term (1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24 or 36 months) upon request. Two options for contract roll-over are available:
  • Roll-over both principal and interest or
  • Roll-over only principal
12. If my SITD is set with automatic roll over, what should I do if I need my money later on and I don’t want to roll over?
You need to inform VFC’s staff in advance with at least one working day notice before the maturity date for any change by calling or email or visiting at our office.

13. If my SITD is not set with automatic roll over, what should I do if I later on wish to renew my SITD?
Please see the answer to #12 above.
14. Can I withdraw my deposit before the maturity date?
You can prematurely withdraw your SITD-Normal only by notifying VF staff at your deposit branch in advance with at least 1 working days’ notice. The interest will be zero if the withdrawal takes place less than 30 days (<30 days). For premature withdrawal transacted equal to or more than 30 days (≥ 30 days), the prevailing interest rate of Hope Savings Account will be applied. However, for SITD-Fixed, you are not allowed to premature by following terms and conditions.
15. What should I do if my Passbook/Certificate of Deposit is lost or damaged?
You need to immediately notify VisionFund Cambodia and request for a new one. You are totally responsible for any liability that may incur prior to such notice. In this case, you need to pay an administrative fee determined by VisionFund Cambodia.
16. What document should I bring along when needing to do any transactions on my account?
Kindly bring your Savings Passbook and Certificate of Deposit (for SITD) with you whenever you need to do any transactions on your account.
17. What if I need additional documents such as Account Statement or Account Balance Confirmation?
Account Statement or Account Balance Confirmation is offered upon request with an administrative fee determined by VisionFund Cambodia.
18. How do I open a Social Investor Term Deposit account if I am living abroad?
For those who reside abroad, please visit our website at www.visionfund.com.kh and download the relevant application forms. Scan and send the completed forms to VisionFund Cambodia via email. You shall then be contacted by our staff for further instructions. http://www.visionfund.com.kh/form
19. How do I deposit money with VisionFund Cambodia if I live abroad?
