To help instil hope and aspiration for Cambodia’s next generation of leaders, VisionFund has been awarding scholarships to children since 2007. To date, 23 children of VisionFund clients receive annual scholarships worth US$ 100 in school materials until high school graduation.
The scholarship inspires clients, and particularly rural residents, to place importance on their children’s education—a sector appearing to be less attractive in rural communities.
“In the future, I wish to send my children to study at a high level. I motivate them to study hard,” pledged client Kim Chin in Banteay Meanchey province.
“For my children, I want them to have a lot of education until they get employment,” resolved client Mum Len in the remote northern province of Preah Vihear. |
