On 29 June 2015: VisionFund Cambodia held a Press Conference in Sunway Hotel Phnom Penh to launch its new products as well as to publicly announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The press conference was attended by national and international guests.
VisionFund Cambodia, a leading Microfinance Institutions in Cambodia, in collaboration with PKMI, launched the new “Double Safety” on deposit product of VisionFund. “Double Safety” earns interest rates of up to 12% plus a Health and Life Insurance cover is automatically provided for FREE.
There are two levels of insurance cover depending on the deposit amount. Deposit your cash from US$3, 000 to US$10,000 receives Silver Insurance Card and deposit more than US$10, 000 receives a Gold Insurance Card. These two insurance cards provide cover for Hospitalization without major surgery, Hospitalization with major surgery, Accidental disability, and Accidental and Non-accidental death. The amount of insurance cover varies according to the deposit amount.
“I am very proud that VisionFund Cambodia has helped hundreds of thousands of children and contributed to the community by way of its deposits, loans and many other financial services. As of May 2015, VisionFund Cambodia reached a loan portfolio of US$104 million in supporting 235,869 families, mostly residing in suburban and remote areas of 25 provinces and cities, and with impact to more than 771,000 children. In addition, we have also mobilized more than US$18 million of savings from about 40,000 clients,” said Mrs. Top Sok Samphea, Chief Operating Officer of VisionFund Cambodia.

Many are ignorant about health risks and unknowingly brought on health problems to themselves,” she added. “VisionFund’s aim is to help Cambodians, both the self-employed as well as the employees. Therefore, we offer a new special Health and Life Insurance which is attached to our clients’ Deposit Product. This Product brings the convenience of double benefits that addresses customers’ concerns on their health or physical risks, in any situations.”
This special promotion of “Double Safety” on deposit product of VisionFund Cambodia starts from 1st of July 2015 onwards. To promote this special offer, VisionFund launches a large-scale Media Campaign on Television, Radio, Facebook, YouTube, and Online Media. Furthermore, staff teams of VisionFund in all operating provinces are ready to assist.

VisionFund Cambodia first piloted a health and disabilities Insurance Project with Prevoir Kampuchea Microlife Insurance (PKMI) since the end of 2012 in three provinces. VisionFund Cambodia then scaled up the project in 2014 to more provinces. In 2015, VisionFund and its partner PKMI, and in conjunction with its Double Safety, will continue to double up the project size and geographical coverage.

After launching the Double Safety, VisionFund also announced and introduced its new Chief Executive Officer, Adrian Merryman, an American. He has traveled from VisionFund Tanzania to Cambodia as the new CEO of VisionFund Cambodia.
Adrian holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and is a graduate of Swarthmore College. Prior to his work in Microfinance, Adrian served as CEO of Screen plc, as Chief Investment Officer of Interregnum plc, as CEO of Temenos Systems S.A., as Head of European Investment Banking for CIBC Oppenheimer Corp., and as an investment banker for Merrill Lynch & Co.
